      <p align="justify">Église  Saint-Saturnin de Cherbonnières.<br>
        On  peut penser qu'il s'agit du premier évêque de Toulouse martyrisé en Gaule  pendant la persécution de l'Empereur Dèce vers 250. Très populaire, ce saint a  donné son nom souvent déformé (Cermin, Cerny, Sarnin, Dornin, Savourin, Sorlin...) à de nombreuses localités du sud de la Loire.<br>
        Cet  édifice roman du XIIe siècle été considérablement remanié. Des documents  attestent des réparations et des transformations importantes, notamment en  1748.<br>
        Des  traces de surhaussement sont visibles. Le clocher d'origine a du être remplacé par l'originale tour hexagonale  actuelle.<br>
        La partie ouest a peut-être été totalement reconstruite et la  nef n'offre pas d'intérêt au regard extérieur.<br>
        Le  coté est du chevet présente au visiteur qui contourne l'édifice les traces  gothiques de l'importante chapelle Seigneuriale détruite à la révolution. Au  niveau du chœur les styles romans et ogivaux se sont manifestement mariés.<br>
        Le clocher abrite une cloche datée de 1630 et qui  porte l'inscription suivante: </p>
      <p class="cyan gras">« IESVS MARIA JE SVIS FAICTE POUR ST SA TURNIN DE CHERBONNIERES Mr  MICHEL BERTHELOT PBR. CVRE DV LJEV.<br>
        A JEAN BERTHELOT LOVIS T.V.A.V.I.D. 1630  ANDRE ROUSSEAU». </p>
      <p align="justify">La  cloche invite à la fois à une pensée spirituelle et à une entrée dans l'édifice.<br>
          <span class="rougevif">Dans la nef</span>:<br>
        Le bénitier d’entée, le Chemin de croix, le grand tableau du Sacré Cœur, le  mobilier, œuvre d'un artisan du village. 
 <br>
  <span class="rougevif">A l'entrée du chœur </span>:<br>
        La  statuaire de presque toutes les églises: Jeanne d'Arc et Sainte-Thérése de  l'Enfant Jésus. <strong>Sous le clocher hexagonal</strong>:<br>
        La  croix, l'autel - don d'Aulnay, le vitrail de Saint Pierre (2004)<br>

        A  droite le vitrail évoquant Saint-Saturnin, au sol la pierre tombale portant  l'inscription:<br>

        <span class="rougevif"><strong>Au cul de four</strong>&nbsp; </span>:<br>
        L'autel  tombeau du XIXe siècle avec l'évocation de l'Agneau (symbole de jésus donnant  sa vie) la veilleuse indique la présence eucharistique. Trois vitraux: Sacré-Cœur  au centre, à gauche un évêque avec sa crosse ? A droite un pape ?<br>
  <strong>La  chapelle latérale</strong> de la vierge devenue récemment chapelle  baptismale: le lieu où l'on naît à la vie chrétienne.<br>
        Le  baptistère et son environnement, l'icône du baptistère de Jésus, l'inscription  du baptistère romain du Latran. </p>
