        <p>Cressé, église Priorale de la Transfiguration.<br>
          Cette  église romane a beaucoup souffert et  parait avoir subi plusieurs remises en état en partant d’une souche du XIIe  siècle, peut-être même du XIe. L'ensemble  est assez barbare et primitif.<br>
          <span class="cyan gras">La  façade</span>, toute moderne, s’élève sur les bases de deux fortes colonnes  romanes qui subsistent seules une ancienne construction. Le clocher, grosse tour à toit presque plat en bâtière, à deux étages, s'orne d'une fenêtre en plein  cintre sur chaque face.<br>
          Les bras du <span class="cyan gras">transept et l'<?php affiche_lexique('abside','');?></span> peu ornée sont de  même époque, mais la nef a été reconstruite en grande partie. Le carré du clocher est couvert d'une coupole sur trompes. Les arcs en  plein cintre de ce carré s’appuient sur, des demi-colonnes adossées à de petits pilastres. Les chapiteaux simples ont peu de relief, mais sont  néanmoins à détailler. L’un d’eux est orné de jolis entrelacs; ils pourraient être du XIe  siècle ou même Carolingien.<br>
          Le  transept, haut voûté en plein cintre (moellons) a conservé sur son bras sud une  <?php affiche_lexique('absidiole','');?> étroite et haute dont la voûte en cul-de-four est aussi en moellons.  L'<?php affiche_lexique('absidiole','');?> du bras nord a disparu. Ne subsiste que son arc d'entrée  aujourd'hui muré.<br>
          <span class="cyan gras">L’<?php affiche_lexique('abside','');?></span>  demi-circulaire, petite, voûtée en cul-de-four et aujourd'hui entièrement  plâtrée, prend jour par une unique fenêtre axiale sans style. Les étroites nefs  latérales ont conservé quelques vestiges de leur ancienne voûte de pierre aussi  en tiers-point.<br>
          A  l’intérieur, trois nefs sont séparées par deux rangs de très fortes colonnes cylindriques  ou de piliers avec chapiteaux romans martelés pour la plupart. Presque tous ces  piliers ont un aspect différent.<br>
          <span class="cyan gras">Sur  la troisième travée</span>, il subsiste quelques vestiges d'une ancienne voûte de pierre  en tiers-point. </p>
